Two wins to kick off pre-season

Two wins to kick off pre-season

Bethan Jones19 Aug - 12:53

An incredible start to pre-season saw both teams victorious in the first run out of pre-season.

What a weekend for Helston RFC! In what was already a landmark occasion fielding two sides simultaneously, both teams delivered performances that exceeded all expectations, setting the tone perfectly for the season ahead.

1XV Dominate at Clodgey Lane

The 1XV made light work of Topsham IIs with a commanding 55-5 victory at home, showcasing the attacking flair and defensive solidity that supporters have come to expect. Captain Jack Jenkin led from the front as his side put on a clinic for the home crowd.
The new additions to the backline proved their worth immediately, with both Ben Rosevear and Guy Brooks delivering standout performances in their debuts. Their seamless integration into the team structure bodes incredibly well for the campaign ahead, adding the pace and creativity that could prove decisive in the battles to come.

2XV Produce Stunning Away Performance
The 2XV's display at Redruth Albany helped set the tone for the season ahead. A result ending in 07-84 to the Helston side, in a performance that announced their arrival in emphatic fashion. For a newly reintroduced second team to travel away and produce such a comprehensive display speaks volumes about the depth of talent at the club.

As pre-season continues, these performances provide the perfect foundation. If this weekend is anything to go by, Helston RFC supporters are in for a very special season indeed. Next up, we welcome both Penryn 1XV and 2XVs to Clodgey Lane in a double header!
